We rang in 2025 quietly watching the final season of Fringe. We talked about watching this series for a couple years before finally getting round to it. I'm glad we did. The first 3 seasons were stellar. Season 4, while good, got really caught up in the "big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff" that is time travel. Even as our brains screamed, "But what about the paradox?" we happily trudged through the rest of the season and are pretty okay with the series finale. Fringe landed on our "Re-Watch" list because we enjoyed it a lot.
Our 2024 series watching was really good having watched quite a few multiple season series together as well as watching our personal favorites on our own. While we enjoy watching shows together more than separately we each have other genres we enjoy. I'm a huge fan of UK Myster/Drama/Police Procedurals which is why I alternate subscriptions to BritBox and AcornTV as needed. Both subscription streaming services offer quality programming in my humble opinion. I've been a UK series fanatic since I found Eastenders on PBS years ago.
Yesterday, I opted to watch the livestream of the church service because I had plans to attend the Pennsylvania & South Jersey Bridal Expo with my grand-niece A, her bridal party and a few other family members. I'm not a fan of driving in the city and I was thankful to be a passenger. It was a fun time even if a lot of the vendors didn't return for Sunday. I guess they felt Saturday was enough coverage. The food samples we did taste were amazing! Festive Board Catering knocked it out of the park, not only with their food, but the employees that repped them that day. They were down-to-earth, friendly, knowledgeable and didn't give us a glassy stare like a couple other vendors did. I didn't get a picture of the good samples because I was too busy eating them.
RhythMix Entertainment had us grooving and I could have danced all night if they let me. When the sax kicked in, I was sold. Fingers are crossed that my Niece & her Fiancé choose them for their wedding next year! Seriously, if you're in need of entertainment services for an upcoming wedding or event, they are amazing and yes, I realize I say that after experiencing 15 minutes of them but that's my point. If they got us dancing and smiling as we shuffled by, imagine having them at your event? Do yourself a favor, click the link and check them out. No, I get no kickbacks. I'm just a grandma who knows what she likes and knows a good thing when she experiences it.![]() |
Mother of the Groom-to-Be and my new favorite Jedi! Battle-ready lightsabers for the wedding couple that loves Star Wars! |
Are you a Star Wars fanatic? We are. The entire family loves Star Wars and yes, there are battle ready light sabers in our home. I found this awesome booth at the Expo and can't wait to do a bit of 2025 Christmas shopping on their site. Their sabers are battle-read and customizable. I checked out their prices and they're extremely affordable. Check out Blue Force Sabers!
Today, I'm kicking back and enjoying the snow from inside my house. I love it when we get more than a dusting. The snow dampens the noise of the hustle and bustle of life. While hubby is working, I've been watching Midsomer Murders, one of my all-time favorite mystery series from the UK. I've hopped into season 14 because I've watched these later seasons fewer times. Once I get through season 24, I'll rewatch it from season 1, episode 1 because I'm a tad addicted.
And I saved the best for last. One of the most important habits that I have is reading and studying the Bible every day. I'm currently reading the Book of Revelation using the Through the Word App on my pone. This app has really changed my understanding of the Word. It's been an absolute blessing to me for the past 2 years and it just keeps getting better. The short lessons/readings make it easy for anyone to build a Bible reading habit and from those, I've developed a deeper desire to study God's Word daily. I'm currently studying the book of Genesis. It always amazes me how God brings things together. This year, I'm diving into discipling another grand-niece and was really excited when her mama asked if she could join in as well. When I approached D about discipleship, and asked where she'd like to start, she immediately responded, "Genesis!" Then, I found out our Dwell group is also beginning with Genesis. I just love love how God weaves things into our lives every day.
Peace,
