Amazon offered Kindle Unlimited to me at 99 cents a month for two months. After that it will renew at the full subscription price of $11.99 monthly. For me, it's worth it when I'm in my "voracious reader" cycle. I read regularly but there are times when I devour several books a month. This is one of those times. That means the subscription pays for itself in no time at all. Like everything else in the world these days, books have gone up in price. What amazes me is that many Kindle books are only $1-$2 less than an actual paperback. When that's the case and it's a series I'll read over and over, I just buy the paperback. My Kindle allows me to store thousands of books and I love it. There's something nostalgic about holding an actual book in my hands, listening to the sound of turning pages and the smell of ink on paper. It's comforting.
Right now I'm picking up paperbacks for two series by two different authors that I adore. A Book, Secret and Scone Society by Ellery Adams and An Irish Village Mystery Series by Carlene O'Connor.
So many books. So little time even though I'm retired!
It's a mystery how I'll find a way to read everything on my list, but I'm willing to give it my best shot!
Happy reading,
Nim
