The past five days have been insanely busy but so rewarding. My Pastor invited me to attend the first BCMD Church Leader Conference last week. I'm part of the church team since I returned to my position as the church admin assistant.  It was such an amazing time with the team. We're a small church so four of us attended: our Pastor, his wife who is director of women's & GenNOW ministries, our interim worship leader & tech guru and me. We were thrilled to find two leaders from another  church that is a plant of our own sending church like us. They're both in men's ministry.

After day one, it was so nice to sit down at a restaurant to share a meal and our thoughts from the day. We covered a lot of the different workshops available, each of us leaning into areas where the Lord has called us in leadership. I can't say enough about the workshops. This leaders conference was amazing and so needed. We came home with pages and pages of notes. I'm just not finding the time to sit down and process everything I gleaned while there.

We got home Friday evening and I went to bed. The road trip back did me in even though I took a Dramamine before we hit the road. I took it late and we got detoured due to traffic, so the winding, hilly roads just wrecked me and I suffered through motion sickness for the entire drive.

I was up at 4 AM on Saturday after getting 9 hours of much needed sleep. Feeling great, I jumped into baking cookies, brownies and Krispie treats for the church BBQ later that day where I was judging the smoked ribs competition and I serve as the church photographer. The BBQ went well and I was once again exhausted when I got home. And of course, being a church lady means going to church on Sunday. It was a great service with a lot of folks that we haven't seen in several weeks and months returning. So praise the Lord for that!

Oh and our Pastor FINALLY won the smoker competition! He as so happy to get his trophy and ribbon. We'll be hearing about this win for the next year, that's for sure!

And if it wasn't evident, I moved to the Blogger platform, which is free. Let me be clear, I love Squarespace and boy did my site looking pretty, but in the end, I felt that the monthly cost could be put to better use since I'm involved in so many things at church. I did buy a template off Etsy so I can at least have a modern look here. Unfortunately, I'm unable to import my blog content here. I've tried several times to no avail. So, I'm starting fresh with this post and leaving up the older ones that I wrote before moving to Squarespace.

There was a block of free time today so I could get this written and as I settle into a regular routine (as regular as it can be since I'm involved in ministry work) again, I pray there will be more time to write.

Peace,

B
