I love lemon.
Lemon desserts, lemon-colored paint, lemon décor, and lemony scents throughout my home. The only things that come close to my love of lemons are coconut and vanilla. Lemons are bright, summery and tart. I'm here for you lemons!
My kitchen is in need of a little overhaul when it comes to paint and décor, so today I decided to play around with ChatGPT's image-making abilities. I asked for a cottagecore vibe with a lemon theme for a wall triptych.
ChatGPT delivered.
It always does. It's like having a personal assistant at my side each day.
I got two adorable frames from my Niece-in-law, and they've been sitting in my stash closet for well over a year. A quick sanding and fresh coat of paint will bring them back to life. One set is headed to my lemon-themed kitchen, and the other will be hanging in our dining room.
The cabinets in my kitchen are lovely and don't need to be replaced. We also weren't thrilled with the quote we received to replace the Corian countertops and island top with wood, so we're keeping what we have. Someone in my family—though I can't remember who—always said, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."
The walls, however, definitely need fresh paint, and I'm currently torn between three Behr colors.
My husband has already lost interest in my backsplash ideas, probably because I have too many of them. He did pick the color Vanillia Ice Cream as his favorite. He’s not a fan of yellow but vanilla is his favorite flavor of ice cream. I’ll take it. He’s already said he has no interest in picking out the backsplash so I’m left on my own, which may be a dangerous thing. Sometimes I pick bold things but we’ll see. Start this project with small ideas and changes while doing what I can with what I have. I probably won't tackle the painting until fall unless I happen to find a really, really good sale on paint before then.
The images below are what AI generated for my dining room. Since the walls in that room are bold, I’ll be painting that frame off white. I’m toying with the idea of painting the one for the kitchen sage green. I may change my mind 5 times before I start the painting process. Sometimes analysis paralysis gets the better of me.

I'm finally finding time to jump back into even more creative projects, even with Vacation Bible School coming up during the first week of July. I'll be painting, sketching, sewing, and diving headfirst into autumn and Christmas crafts. Yes, I know it's still summer. But this will be the first year I've intentionally started crafting before the season arrives so that I'm actually ready when it gets here. If you're a crafter, that probably makes perfect sense.
This seems like a good place to end this little entry because I'm off to make a big batch of lemon curd for lemon cupcakes. My grandson asked me to make them for him and Grama always delivers.
Love & Lemons!
